Director, Iñigo Asensio, has traveled through 12 countries and has interviewed Basques who live far from the Basque Country and who barley have an opportunity to speak Basque in their daily lives for his documentary Euskara Munduan. Analyzing their relationship with the language, and what it means to them was his goal. “I realized that it is something carried inside, that connects us to our identity,” he says. In Reno, Nevada a group of women went out for dinner in April, after Neena Laxalt sent an email to 35 of her contacts. All of them showed up. They talked, enjoyed the food and the drinks, and had a great time. The next meeting was organized by Florence Larraneta Frye, on September 21. It was, again, a great success: “Everybody showed up, we almost had more people than room,” she told EuskalKultura.com. The next meeting will be on the 13th of December, at the Louis Basque Corner restaurant, in Reno, when she expects 75 people. “This is growing because it’s important for them.”
