For a few days she traveled from her office in Mexico City to Bilbao where Doin Communication's matrix is located. Laura Gonzalez de Artaza, Mexican of Basque origin is director in Mexico of this company dedicated to the internationalization and communication and promotes contact, relationships and the establishment of new initiatives and projects in both countries. Last Sunday, Jon Mujika from Deia newspaper, interviewed her.

The Carabobo Basque club, in the city of Valencia, Venezuela, celebrated the 39th anniversary of its foundation at the end of November. The event gathered nearly one hundred members who enjoy a meal and much entertainment including music, song, dance where a toast was made to the next 39 years of work for Basque culture in this region in Venezuela.

The premiere of the documentary is being held this week: Tuesday was premiered in Bilbao, it will be presented tomorrow in Pamplona and on Sunday in Necochea, Argentina. Jostunak (Tailors) tells the story of how the Gure Esku Dago (It’s in your hands) popular initiative began and how the Human Chain took place in June between Durango and Pamplona. The appointment, this Sunday at 9pm at the Necochea Basque Club. Admission is free.

Basque language lovers and those that are curious can be found worldwide, but without a doubt, the country in the Diaspora with the largest number of students and teachers is Argentina. That is why it’s not surprising that Euskera Day festivities happen one after the other in there. As part of the centennial celebration of the foundation of the first Basque association in Valparaiso (1915-2015), Eusko Etxea of this Chilean coastal city supported the presentation of the book Winnipeg: Testimony of an Exile, by Julio Galvez Garraza. The work commemorates the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the ship, Winnipeg to Chile that carried a number of Basque families and exiles fleeing the war.

The Advisory Board of Basque Collectivities met yesterday at the Lehendakaritza (Presidency of the Basque Government) in Vitoria-Gasteiz for its annual meeting, presided over by Lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu. Marian Elorza, the Secretary General of Foreign Action, and Asier Vallejo, Director of the Basque Community Abroad addressed the group along with the Lehendakari himself and other council members.

David Mugica is 44 years old and is an air traffic controller. He was born in Bearn, the son of a father from Lower Navarre and a Bearnaise mother. David was 25 when he started learning Basque in Paris. He lives in Bordeaux since 2001 and is the Basque club's president.

The eighth edition of the Festival of Collectivities in Monte Hermoso – a hundred kilometers east of Bahia Blanca, in the south of the Argentine province of Buenos Aires – included the participation of the Eusko Biltzar Basque club of Coronel Pringles in tow of the main activities of the event: the food court and the parade. Eusko Biltzar contributed in this way to represent and spread the Basque culture in an event that gathered a record number of visitors as reported by local media.

The novel by Kirmen Uribe, Bilbao-New York-Bilbao (translated into English from Basque by Elizabeth Macklin) has been selected among the top 15 fiction books of the year according to the annual list published by Foyles. The list includes works published in English either originally or in translation. Among the titles selected in 2014 there are the latest published by well-known authors such as Ali Smith, Naomi Wood and the winner of the Man Booker Prize, Richard Flanagan.
