The Official Bulletin of the Basque Country, published on Friday, November 11th included the Resolution dated October 27, 2016 from the Director of the Basque Community Abroad with the information about economic aid to Basque clubs aimed to take care of those in dire need in the Basque communities abroad. The amount budgeted was 202,000 Euros, and was distributed to Basque clubs and in the following way: Argentina (23). Chile (18), Cuba (64), Uruguay (6) and Venezuela (10).

This fall the Aquitaine.eus project brings a Basque air to Bordeaux and Pau, two cities with the largest Basque Diaspora presence in the south of France. Supported by the Etxepare Institute, and Euskal Kultur Erakundea, in Bordeaux an exhibit on the Donostia Jazz Festival will be presented along with a workshop on traditional Basque music with Mendizabal and Furundarena. In addition, in Lons, near Pau, the exhibit “Soka” will also be available to view.

The Festival of Communities in Rosario, Argentina takes place this year November 4th through 15th at the National Flag Park. Organized by the Tourism Office and the Association of Foreign Communities, the Festival gathered some 50 institutions including the Centro Navarro and the Zazpirak Bat Basque Club. The dantzaris from the Navarrese Center performed last weekend and will return to the stage tomorrow at 9pm. The txikis from Zazpi also performed on Saturday and the adults will do the same on Monday.

Gure Txoko in Sydney celebrates its 50th birthday and in the Australian city they have delved into the celebration of this significant date. The half-century of life is the meeting point and the umbilical cord with Euskal Herria for this group of Basques who settled 17,000 kilometers away. The festivities will begin tomorrow and will run through Sunday, November 20th. Following is the complete program.

The Basque Museum of Boise is looking for a person to take over its Souvenirs and Gifts Store. No one will be able to fill the void left by Wendy, but the Museum needs to recover its regular activity, so the job offer has been made requesting a person used to attend and deal with people and experience running a business or carrying a store. The deadline for aplications concludes next week's Friday, November 18th at 5:00pm.

The Festival of European-Argentinean Communities in Bariloche that takes place annually at the Club Danes in Dina Huapi began last weekend and will conclude next Sunday, November 13th. Once again, the Basque community is part of the festival, represented, as usual, by the Mendiko Euzko Etxea. The Basque club wanted to especially highlight the commitment of its youth to this festival, “because they collaborate and back us up, and this is something that makes us very proud,” club president Hector Graña said EuskalKultura.com.

The Worlds of Music Festival in Buffalo, Wyoming will pay tribute this year to the Basque community and its music thanks to the group, Ospa that includes trikitilari David Romtvedt who also plays for the local Basque dance group. The festival begins tomorrow with a program that includes concerts, workshops and other activities. All proceeds will go to the NABO Festival that will take place in Buffalo in July, 2017.

Fernando Lizarbe and Alejo Conti, from Rosario, members of Geroa Bai Argentina, toured Navarre to meet with representatives of Geroa Bai in Navarre, as well as representatives of the Government of Navarre, including with president Uxue Barkos. During their stay, they gave a talk about Geroa Bai Argentina and participated in Nafarroa Oinez, the traditional festival fundraiser for Ikastolas in Navarre.

The recital by the Basque group from Buenos Aires will take place as part of the events planned for the 40th anniversary of Euzko Etxea's Matxin Burdin Library. The concert will be held at the Basque club facilities, admission is free and it is open to the public. Following, a review of the variety of offerings that have taken place lately in La Plata, in the areas of culture and sports.
