Martxoaren 28an, goizeko 10etan, Korrika korritu edo ibiliko dute Sugarhouse Park-en Utah-ko Euskal Etxeko kide eta lagunek. Animatzen tipi-tapa bat egitera? Salt Laken ere, euskararen alde!
Ekitaldi ireki eta erabat ludikoa da. Hona Euskal Etxeko Carina Barajasen azalpen eta gonbidapena:
Korrika is a 10 day - 24 hour run put on by the AEK (Basque Language Schools). Korrika is a race for the Basque language that winds its way through the Basque Country. Its objective is twofold: on the one hand, to promote awareness of the need to speak Basque and, on the other, to raise funds that will enable the AEK Basque language schools to continue their teaching work.
In Salt Lake City, we also love to participate in this event, we will do three rounds around Sugarhouse Park on Saturday March 28, 2026 at 10:00 am. Run or walk, dogs and children welcome! We will have a cooler in tow with refreshments. Bring your Basque bandana to sport, or we will have extras to hand out as well!
There will also be Euskara related activities along the route! The slogan this year is “Euskara gara” (“We are Euskara”) has society as its goal:
“Basque can bring all of us together; Basque is not a barrier, but rather a breath of life. Basque must be cultivated as a bridge. To the extent that we want it to become the common language of all Basque citizens, it will also serve as a tool for social cohesion.”
They also emphasized that Basque gives life and vitality to society:
“The Basque Country needs new breath; we are the country of all those who want to leap into the land of the Basque language, whether they were born here or came from elsewhere. Basque is our breath, the language of caring for one another, the language of social justice…”
