Just south of the railroad tracks that intersect the City of Chino, California Central Avenue lies an unassuming building with two red doors. The door on the right leads to a dining room, where soon-to-be friends sit on both sides of long tables for family-style Sunday lunch with fresh salads and steaming platters of oxtail stew. The door on the left leads to a bar, where old friends slap each other on the back on weeknights and ice cubes clink in frosted glasses. But no matter which door a person chooses, both lead to Centro Basco, the center of the Basque community in Chino.

El acto se desarrolló anoche en la sede de la institución. El presidente del Centro hizo entrega de tres sillas de ruedas que se compraron con el dinero enviado por el País Vasco para tres vecinos de Coronel Pringles. El presidente del Centro Vasco local, Juan José Olasagastía, acompañado por integrantes de la comisión directiva presidió el acto y destacó: “Vamos a hacer entrega de lo que se llama “Ayuda de Extrema Necesidad”, que es un programa que viene del País Vasco y está destinado a casos muy especiales”, clarificó.

Juan Mari Arzak sukaldari donostiarrak Miami Dade Collegek banatzen duen Lehendakaritza Domina (Presidential Award) jasoko du datorren martxoaren 11ean aipatu irakaskuntza eskola nagusian egingo den ekitaldi batean. Domina jasotzearekin nazioarteko lehen mailako aitormena izango du Euskal Sukaldaritza Berriaren sustatzaile eta ikur izan den chef-ak. Aurretik sari hau daukatenen artean Lech Walesa, Mikhail Gorbachov, Bill Clinton, Muhammad Yunus, Barack Obama, Madeleine Albright edo Kolonbiako lehendakari ohi Alvaro Uribe aipa daitezke (informazio gaztelaniaz Deian, aldameneko loturan)

Kolonbiako Aviatur enpresa-taldeak 300 agentzia baino gehiago dauzka herrialde osoan zehar eta bi bezerotik batek aukeratzen du atzerrian igaro nahi dituen oporrak diseinatzeko. Ekonomia Sustapeneko diputatu Imanol Pradalesek eta Ganberaren Nazioarteratze Ataleko arduradun Mikel Arieta-Araunabeñak parte hartuko dute "Kolonbian negozioak egiteko gomendioak" informazio jardunaldian. Kolonbiako Informaziorako Teknologia eta Sistemen Ministro ordeak, María Isabel Mejíak, Bogotan hartu du Bizkaiko erakundeen delegazioa.

"The Barinaga family has been sheep-ranching in America for more than a century. My grandfather, Valentin Barinagarrementeria, travelled from the Basque village of Markina to Mountain Home, Idaho, in the early 1900s to make his life as a sheep-herder. He soon graduated from herder to sheep rancher. He and my grandmother Eulalia ran a ranch in southern Idaho, with up to 5,000 ewes and their lambs. Theirs was a typical American sheep ranch, and their products were lamb and wool. They never dreamed of milking their ewes, as sheep dairying was not established in this country, and the range-sheep operations of the American west did not lend themselves to dairying..."

Euskaltzaindiak, Xiberoko auzoen izen bilketa bat egin du eta ortografia normalizatuan ezarri ondoan, liburuxka bat plazaratuz. Sekulan ez zen holako lana eginik izan. Ikusiz eta izenak galtzen ari zirela, Battittu Coyos euskaltzainak eraman du lana laguntzaile andana batekin.Herriko etxe guzietarat igorri dute eta liburutegietan ere atzamaiten ahal da. Poloniako Szczecinek-eko Espol Szkol Spolecznych ikastetxeko 24 ikasle eta bi irakasle gure artean dira aste honetan, Berako Labiaga ikastolaren eskutik. Ingelera erabiliz elkartruke baten programaren baitan egin dute ezagutza Polonia eta Berako DBH2ko ikasleek. Poloniarrak aste baterako etorri dira.
