Last Saturday, May 20, Boise, Idaho celebrated its Sagardotegi Dinner 2017. Organized by the local dantzari group Oinkari, with Bereziartua cider from Astigarraga, everyone that approached the Boisean Euskal Etxea enjoyed the best Basque cider tradition of Txotx, with a classic menu based on fried cod, cod omelet, txuleta, and nuts and cheese, accompanied by cider. Chef, Jesús Alcelay. The video came thru Mercedes Mendive, the musician in charge of the live music of the event. Txotx!

Ceremony at the Tree of Gernika in the Municipal Park in Azul, Argentina for the 80th Anniversary of the Bombing

In the Argentine city of Azul, interior of the province of Buenos Aires, the Gure Txokoa Basque Center of Azul carried a ceremony at the Municipal Park, near the shoot of the Tree of Gernika that grows there, for the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Gernika. The Azulean act joined the dozens of towns, cities and places in the world who organized similar acts paying tribute to the victims and launching a message of peace, solidarity and respect for human rights in whatever place in the world they are threatened (image Azul es Cultura).

Iñaki Osa Goikoetxea, former jai-alai player in the US: "Rather than emails I used to prefer letters"

Born in the Basque coastal town of Zumaia, Gipuzkoa, jai-alai player Iñaki Osa Goikoetxea first crossed the ocean and jumped to the American adventure in 1997. That year he arrived to Newport, Connecticut, and later he would move in Orlando, Miami and the Florida jai-alai courts. They were years in which he used to travel between the American courts and the Basque Country. Journalist Xabier Madariagak interviews him about nostalgia, for the program Ur Handitan of ETB, the Basque public television.

Patxi Albizu, missionary in Venezuela: "When you have to leave far away, you tend to idealize Euskal Herria"

Patxi Albizu spent 10 years of his life in Venezuela and ended up building houses for the peasants. This priest who lives now in Donostia had an intense relationship with Eusko Etxea of Caracas and the Basque-Venezuelan community. he remembers those years as very growing and enriching for him, "the best of my life," he admits, although he felt daily the lack of his Basque country This report is the result of his conversation with journalist Xabier Madariaga, of the program Ur Handitan of ETB.

Program in Berlin to commemorate the 80th aniversary of the Bombing of Gernika, at Guernica Platz

As every anniversary of the bombing, Guernica Platz in Berlin's Zehlendorfe neighborhood hosted this year's one, the 80th anniversary, with a civic event organized by the Basque association and euskal etxea 'Gernika' of Berlin, combining word, music and a wreath. After that and in a different place of the same district in Berlin, a historian talked about Gernika and the Germans (video BEE)

Fermin Zelaieta, amerikano: "I had very clair that I wanted to marry a Basque woman"

Fermin Zelaieta is from Sunbilla, in Navarre., where he lives. Like many around him, he got the oportunity to emigrate to the States to work as a sheepherder and that's what he did. He was just a few months herding sheep and then he moved to other tasks. He has strong feelings and many good memories about the time he spent in the West. He explains his story and how he feels, and misses all that in this interview in Basque with Xabier Madariaga in Ur Handitan, a TV program in Euskal Telebista (video EiTB.eus)

The Basque town of Donibane Garazi, and the Californian of South San Francisco are sister cities. The video includes its signature in 2012, between Mayor Richard Gabarino of So San Francisco and Councilor Graxiana Paris, of Donibane Garazi. It should be remembered that waves of Basques established in the Bay Area their new home and that right there, in South San Francisco, the Basque community built in 1982, the Basque Cultural Center, which is their heart and meeting point in the area (image Jean-Paul Barthe, Milesker, Jean-Paul).

On Saturday, February 11, 2017, the Basque community of Utah celebrated its already classic annual "Basque Dinner & Dance" fundraising festival. It is a Basque style menu dinner prepared by the volunteer chef team of the Basque Club of Utah, with entertainment by the Utah-ko Triskalariak Basque dancers.
