Christmas is approaching and many of our readers want to send special greetings to their family and friends. A good way to do so, quickly and easily, is to go online and use virtual greeting cards found there. You can even send greetings in Basque that include Basque characters and motifs. Following, as in other years, EuskalKultura.com is publishing a list of virtual greeting cards in Basque that we found online.

Donostia-San Sebastian.  As every year, at this time, our readers begin to ask about virtual greeting cards to celebrate the holidays in Basque, so we have provided a small updated list here.  If you know of other websites, greeting cards, or Christmas animation in Basque, please add them to this list through the comments section.

-Ikasbil: HABE’s site for Basque students provides a wide variety of cards, classified in categories such as: Maitasunezkoak (love), Zoriontzekoak (congratulations) and Gabonetakoak (Christmas).  Many cards are animated, and very funny, and all are in Basque.

-Kukuxumusu: The Company in Navarre known all over the world for its modern and colorful images, provides a selection of cars especially designed for the holidays, but as always, with a touch of irreverent humor.  There are characters like the Olentzero, Mari Christmas, Merri Toro and many more.  This year there is even a special card for the crisis:

Kukuxumusu postala

-www.manycomics.com: various themes like Christmas presents, twelve grapes, Zorionak…

-Postalak.com: a website with virtual cards in Basque of every type, among which there are various Christmas cards.  This is a good address to use all year.

-Pirritx eta Porrotx: The cards that drive the kids crazy.  On the clowns’ website, Pirritx eta Porrotx, there is a game “You’re the clown,” that allows photos to be uploaded to be personalized with wigs, mustaches and glasses like Pirritx, Porrotx or Marimotots.  You can also add whatever text you would like, print it, or send it via email.

-BiscayTIK: The foundation supported by Bizkaia’s Provincial Governemnt offers an original selectin of Christmas cards.  You just have to register at BizcayTIK in order to be able to send them.

-Zernola.net: Various types of cards, not necessarily related to Chrstimas but that can be used in the same way.

(If you know of more websites with free Basque cards, let us know in the comments section, Eskerrik asko!)
