On Monday, February 3rd, the Basque language students of Boise stayed after their weekly lesson at the Basque Museum and practiced singing. They were joined by other boisetarras, some Basque speakers, others not, and all together they learned the Santa Ageda traditional song. The group left the Museum and hit the Basque Block, where they sang the traditional songs to the saint, as it is done in most towns of Euskal Herria. The singers braved the cold weather and created a joyful atmosphere wherever they went.

Boise, USA. Last Monday, February 3rd a group of 23 brave boisetarras hit the Basque Block singing to Santa Ageda. In the Basque Country tradicionally people sing on the night of February 4th, but the Boise Basque language students decided to do it on Monday night, after their weekly lesson.

They were met by other fellow Boiseans and after a little rehearsal they went to the Basque Block where they melted the winter chill with their voices and the rhythm of the makilas (sticks). They also wen to the Leku Ona restaurant, where the locals asked about the songs and their meaning.
