With only one season of seven seven-minute episodes, the web series Gifted Corporation has won several awards at international festivals and has a large number of online followers, especially in the US. This series, created by Basques Rose of Dolls and Oliver Mend, was conceived and recorded in Bilbao, and its authors are already working on a second season.

The Etxepare Institute recently announced new agreements with five universities in Europe and America. Mari Jose Olaziregi Alustiza (Donostia, 1963) is the director for Promotion and Diffusion of the Basque Language at the Etxepare Institute. A large part of her work consists in traveling to several universities to secure lectureships for Basque language and culture, and establish chairs. Felix Ibargutxi talked to her in an interview published in the Diario Vasco.

On July 10th, Vancouver, Canada’s Propaganda Coffee will become a tavern very much like one of those that can be found at the old part of any Basque town or village for a day. Chef Jefferson Álvarez will use Txotx Basque Imports’ products to bring “a taste from the Basque Country” to the city. “My duty as a chef is to educate people in different kinds of foods,” he told EuskalKultura.com. “We’re very excited about this event,” added Kelly Chomat, CEO of Txotx Basque Imports.

The “Excellence in Basque Studies” will be held once again as part of the summer offerings by the Etxepare Basque Institute. Its goal is to train future Basque teachers that will take part in the Basque language and culture lectureships supported by the Institute at some 30 universities around the world. It will be held July 8-10 in Donostia and Etxepare has now announced that it has some scholarships available to those interested in taking part.

During his tour through Argentina, and with the support of the Zazpirak Bat Basque club in Rosario, Bizkaian musician, Pascual Barturen, gave concerts in four cities. At each destination, the local Basque community had the opportunity to organize presentations that pleased not only their members, but also the rest of music lovers who attended them.

It’s the third time Ramon Zugazaga, president of Elko Indar, will take his young players to the Basque Country, to participate in the prestigious Donosti Cup. This year, 42 youngsters, aged 11-18, will compete against other soccer clubs from all over the world, in three different levels. “I don’t know if we’ll be able to win but I’m pretty sure they will all do a good job,” Zugazaga told EuskalKultura.com. Elko is a city in Nevada with a long Basque tradition. Their Basque Festival, the biggest one in the state, will be next week, coinciding with the soccer team's visit to the Basque Country.

The Asociación Vasco-Navarra de Beneficencia, Cuba’s Basque club will celebrate its 138th anniversary of its foundation on July 12th with festivities at the Palacio de la Rumba in Havana. William A. Douglass, from the Center for Basque Studies in Reno, will be named an honorary member at the event. Additionally, there will be music, improvisers, and a popular meal for members and friends.

He just got back from Cuba, Mexico and the US, and after traveling to Madrid and Barcelona,he will soon leave for Argentina. Jose Francisco “Kinku” Zinkunegi is the coordinator of HABE’s Euskara Munduan Program that sponsors Basque language classes worldwide at the Basque club level.

Even if the motive of the trip was to participate in the ICANN conference, the director of the PuntuEus Foundation, Josu Waliño Pizarro, took advantage of his stay in Buenos Aires to meet with various representatives from the Argentinean Basque community. In an interview with EuskalKultura.com, he stressed the importance of spreading the use of the domain .eus “also in the Diaspora.”
