Bilbao, Bizkaia. Today marks the beginning of the 3rd edition of the Bziber Challenge that invites youth between the ages of 11-16 to create contents in Euskera on their social media. Unlike prior editions, when it was just for youth in Bizkaia, this time the invitation has been launched to youth anywhere in the Basque Country including the Diaspora, or anywhere in the world. All you have to do is follow the Bziber account (@bziber_lehiaketa), on Instagram and TikTok and respond to the slogans by making videos in Basque that are then uploaded to the networks.
Actress and moderator, Edurne Azkarate, will be the one proposing four options to make your video about. Everyone who participates will be entered in the “Bziber kutxa” drawing for a technology kit in order to make better videos, and four Bziber t-shirts. April 10th is the last day to upload your videos and the names of the winners of the drawing will be announced on April 12th on the website and on its social media.
The initiative comes from Bizkaia and is supported by the Azkue Foundation and the Department of Euskera, Culture, and Sports at the Government of Bizkaia. The first edition was held in July of last year, during summer vacation, and the second was during Christmas break. Now the proposal is to take advantage of the Holy Week break to support and strengthen the use of Basque on social media most used by youth in a playful way.
This year, participation is open to everyone in the Basque Country and the Diaspora. Taking advantage of the opportunity to interact with youth of your own age, anywhere in the world on social media and using the Basque language as a nexus. You will have fun and you may also win a prize.
