As part of its 25th anniversary, the Basque club in Chacabuco invites to its first-ever Dancers’ Get-Together

As part of its 25th anniversary celebration, the Guillermo Larregui Basque club in Chacabuco, Argentina will gather Basque clubs in the area with its first Regional Dancers’ Get-Together. The event will take place on August 9th and will include an outdoor dance at the clubhouse. Lodging for the dantzaris will be in a place donated by the city so dancers will only be responsible for their travel expenses and meals. The Basque club is also expecting the Navarrese Club dancers in Buenos Aires to participate.

Chacabuco, Argentina.  2014 will be a very special year for the Chacabuco Basque club that will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this June.  For the occasion, the club is planning an intense program of events that includes monthly “tabernas” and participating in other Basque club functions.  But undoubtedly, the most anticipated activity at Guillermo Larregui this year will be the Anniversary Dinner that will take place on June 19th.  Festivities will take place the day before the date of the club’s foundation, taking advantage of the holiday in Argentina on June 20th.  The Dancers’ Get-Together will take place on August 8th according to the club.

In regards to the anniversary dinner, it will take place at the clubhouse where they are expecting at least 200 people to attend.  Among invited guests are Delegate of Euskadi Sara Pagola, FEVA officers and representatives of Basque clubs.  The even on August 8th, on the other hand, is aimed at the dantzaris and will be organized in two parts: the dance exhibition on the main plaza followed by a dance at the Euskal Etxea.

As club president, Pablo Pavesa, explained to EuskalKultura.com, lodging for the dancers will be provided by the city, at the Hogar del Niño, at no cost to the dancers, however chaperones will have to arrange their accommodations.  There won’t be a voucher and the youth who want to attend only have to pay for their travel and meals.  Pavesa also confirmed that the Centro Navarro’s dance group will also be attending.  The event is open and clubs wanting to participate need to contact the Guillermo Larregui club via email: cvchacabuco@yahoo.com.ar or on Facebook at Centro Vasco Chacabuo.
