As every year, the Gure Txoko Basque club in Valladolid has again organized a new edition of its trip to Euskal Herria, a weekend excursion that will begin tomorrow. Twenty-four members of the club will visit Bergara, Zumarraga, Usurbil (where they will eat at a cider house), Orio and Aia where they will attend the Festival of Txakoli. Additionally, on May 11 and 12 the club will be the seat for the Mus Championships of Basque clubs in Spain.

Valladolid, Spain.  This Saturday morning 24 members of the Gure Txoko Basque club of Valladolid will leave for the Basque Country (where they travel once every year) to have dinner in a cider house and to see new places.

The group will visit Bergara and Zumarraga and will eat at the Etxeberri restaurant.  At night, the group will go to Usurbil where they will eat at the Saizar cider house.  At night the travelers will stay at the Aisia hotel in Orio.  The trip will continue on Sunday with a visit to Aia, where the members will attend the Txakoli Festival.  The trip was organized by Ricardo Garcia Anton, originally from Elgoibar, and former club president.  The club’s current president is Ricardo Fernandez Isasi from Bilbao.

Additionally the club told EuskalKultura.com that they will be the host of the 2013 Mus Championships of Basque clubs in Spain that will take place on May 11 and 12.  The meeting of clubs in Spain will also take place during this time.  Gure Txoko has invited Asier Vallejo, Director of Relations with the Diaspora, to the event.
