Organizers, and invited exhibitors, were very happy with how well-received the event was and agreed on the importance of generating activities that disseminate the Basque culture; above all in order to give higher visibility to work that has been done by the local Basque community. The conference closed in anticipation of holding the event again next year as a cycle or individual conferences. Among the authorities that inaugurated the event was the Delegate of Euskadi in Argentina, Sara Pagola.

La Plata, Argentina.  Ten presentations made up the cycle “Basque Institutions and Culture,” as part of the Free Chair of Basque Thought at the National University of La Plata (UNLP) aimed at bringing folks outside of the community closer to the Basque culture.  In this way, project organizers were very satisfied with the event held on October 1st and 2nd that 150 people attended.

The program was characterized by the breadth of topics covered, history, ethnology, language and popular dress in the Basque Country, among others.  At the end of the exhibition, and new this year, there was a raffle of five books on Basque themes and exhibitors were presented UNLP certificates.  As part of this recognition, the Euzko Etxea also presented an award to Enrique Aramburu for “his work in favor of the diffusion of the Basque culture.”
