Donostia-San Sebastián. This may be of special value for those who are confined to their homes these days, with the Basque Government facilitates access to eLiburutegia its digital library comprised of some 20,000 books and 15,000 films, good news for anyone who loves to read or film, in the Basque Country, as well as the Diaspora.  To enroll all you have to do is email your name and what Basque club you belong to.

The Basque Government’s Department of Culture has simplified the process for those wishing to use this free service.  EuskalKultura.eus contacted the eLiburutegia and technician Patricias Acebes confirmed that in order to enroll from the Diaspora all you have to do is send an email with this form to liburutegi-zerbitzua@euskadi.eus.

The eLiburutegia digital library provides books in two formats, downloads and streaming.  The first allows you to read on a device - PC, laptop, tablet, smartphone or eBook - after downloading it, for 21 days, while the second provides the possibility of reading the book without downloading it, although it requires internet connection. Users receive an email within five days of the loan’s expiration date. After the deadline, the user can keep the digital cover and add it to their own shelf' of read books.

The three main languages that the books are in include Basque, Spanish and English, although there are also some titles in French, Catalan as well as other languages.
