Euskal Kultur Erakundea, the Basque Cultural Institute of Iparralde, has opened the call for a new creative grant as part of the Hogei’ta cultural program. These grants will support a project of reinterpretation of the Basque culture through image and sound up to 13,000 Euros as well as stays in Aquitaine and the Basque Country. The call is open to artists in the Diaspora as well as all over the word, according to EKE. Proposals should be sent in Basque, French, Spanish or English prior to April 30.

Uztaritze, Lapurdi.  The Basque Cultural Institute of Iparralde and the Atabal of Biarritz have launched a new creative grant, as part of the Hogei'ta cultural program.  The project is also being supported by institutions in both Iparralde and Hegoalde such as the Donostia-San Sebastian 2016 Foundation, Donostia Kultura, Emankor Sarea (Bilbao), the Rocher de Palmer (Cenon) and the Florida (Agen).

The objective of the grant is to promote projects that interpret elements of Basque culture (language, history, society etc.) through a creation consisting of current music and images.  The candidates will have to develop their work with material recorded by themselves and be sure that they hold the rights of said material.

Candidates

The grant is open to any and all artists, artistic collective or artistic association that develops projects in the areas of current music and images.  Artists in the Diaspora and anywhere else in the world can also participate according to EKE.  The grant consists of a monetary award of 13,000 Euros (including taxes) for the completion and production of the work to be selected by the jury.

In addition, artists are expected to spend time in Aquitaine and the Basque Country in order to create something related to contemporary music there.  Expenses incurred due to these stays may be paid by the institutions depending on the characteristics of the selected project.
