For another year, the Eskualdunen Biltzarra Basque club in Bordeaux will delve into the cultural festival, Heritage Days that is celebrated in all of France. The event offers the people of Bordeaux the possibility to enjoy various activities with a Basque flavor. The program organized by the euskal etxea will take place all weekend long, and includes choir concerts, pilota matches, food tastings and an informal dinner at the club’s headquarters.

Bordeaux, France.  The Bordeaux Basque club is excitedly counting down to the weekend, so that they can once again open their doors to the people of Bordeaux and invite them to get to know Basque culture as part of Heritage Days.  What better way to attract people than with food?  Eskualdunen Biltzarra will have a stand with Basque products in the Place du Palais, organized with the collaboration of the Basque producers Idoki.  The stand will be the meeting place and will also include constant entertainment, thanks to a txaranga , and the club’s music and choral groups.

On Saturday evening, starting at 20:00, the Basque club has organized a concert at the church of Saint-Pierre. The first part will be performed by the club’s Bestalariak choir and the second will be done by Etxekoak.   Admission is 10 Euros.  The performance will continue at the Basque club with an informal dinner with talos, sandwiches, Basque pastries, music and dance.  On Sunday the day will begin with mass at Saint-Pierre, followed by lunch at the euskal etxea.

A professional pilota tournament will also take place on the weekend, at the fronton in Saint-Michel Park.  There will be handball as well as Joko Garbi (chistera).  The schedule is as follows: Saturday from 14:00-16:00 and handball from 16:00, followed by Joko Garbi at 17:00.  On Sunday, from 14:00-16:00, with handball beginning at 16:00 and Joko Garbi at 17:00.
