A large group of people participated in two activities proposed by the Basque club in Ayacucho, in the Argentinean province of Buenos Aires. On the one hand, on October 8, there was a fashion show “Cheerful Spring” designated especially for the city’s youth. On the other, on October 13, uniting two great customs of Argentina and Euskal Herria, there was a dinner with a Tango show. The activities were extremely successful and the Basque club would like to thank everyone who collaborated in the events.

Ayacucho, Argentina.  In hopes of attracting more people to the Basque club to have a good time with friends, the board of directors of Euskal Odola in Ayacucho organized two get-togethers during the month of October.  The first, at the beginning of the season, was a fashion show “Cheerful Spring,” that converted the Basque clubhouse into a great runway.  A large number of youth from the vicinity modeled the latest fashions those gathered there.

“It is a different event that counted on friends of the center, especially local artists and commercial houses.  Among the businesses that participated, we want to mention Ilusiones Deportes, Puerto de Lilas, Próxima Estación, Monigotes, Marian Jatip, Hermanos Correa, La Tapera and Susu Urbina,” said Euskal Odola.  “Additionally, we want to express our gratitude to Graciela López de Guazzeli, Nilda Martiren de Lynch, Susana Cano and José Cirelli who worked with the musicians and models.  We should also mention the work of Jose Rios on sound, Federico Garberi, lighting, and note that the artistic trio of Ciganda, Perez, Derdoy and the StaffDance of Romina Aneas were in charge of the show.”

Argentinean Tango and Basque flavors

On October 13, on the other hand, the salon at Euskal Odola was converted into a dance floor.  The event took place with the local group “Tango Cristal,” that performed the show, “in the front row they invited the dancers to make sparks on the floor,” while they were offered Basque Country delicacies.

The dances from the Pyrenees were thanks to Belen Zabaleta, director of the Basque club group.  Among tangos and Milongas, there were also fandangos that painted the night with the colors of the ikurriña.  There were also dancers from Gure Etxea in Tandil at the festivities.
