Donostia-San Sebastián. Another year has passed, and what a year it was! It is already Christmas 2020 and it has been certainly complicated, no doubt with the current COVID-19 situation and its consequences to follow us into the new year which will begin in just a few days. It is clear that we have had better times, but also much worse. And despite all of the difficulties, Basques in Euskal Herria and around the world always put one foot in front of the other.
Some say that Basques are stubborn, attributing the survival of our language and culture to this characteristic continuing to contribute to the reality of this contemporary world. In any case, the recipe for our future is not new and always includes ingredients like enthusiasm, work, commitment, imagination, solidarity and the excitement of transmitting to our children the legacy that we received from our parents and have improved upon. At the forefront of all of this are the Basque clubs scattered around the world.
The task to gain the future at any adverse circumstances is never easy, but mutual support and joining forces, we will continue to move forward, working side by side, each contributing their efforts from where they may be, joining in and fighting daily. At least that is how we see it at EuskalKultura.eus.
By mid-2021 we will have been online for 20 years, but that is a story for another time. This will also provide us with a boost to keep up with our daily work of communicating and connecting Euskal Herria with its Diaspora.
On a day like today, our message is simple, a call for excitement and joy: Zorionak eta Urte Berri On! Take care and enjoy!
