Donostia-San Sebastian. The invitation to participate in Euskaraldia is adding Basques from the Diaspora where the idea was very well received.  In fact, events began to be organized shortly after the call was made, and will continue through December 4th, some coinciding with the celebration of International Day of Euskera (ENE) as in the Lectureships sponsored by the Etxepare Basque Institute.

From great distances from the Basque Country, but with the same commitment as in Euskal Herria, one of the first activities in the Diaspora was the virtual Arigune organized by the San Nicolas Basque Club on November 20th.  During the event that included the participation of Basque speakers in Argentina, Uruguay and the Basque Country, local teacher, Bego Tisera, welcomed everyone and read the story “Usoa eta inurria,” (The Dove and the Ant), that they talked about afterwards.  The gathering also included the song Euskal Herrian euskaraz.

On the same weekend, the JHM – “Jalgi hadi mundura” group also opened an Arigune in Uruguay to talk about Euskaraldia.  This included participants from Uruguay, Argentina, Euskal Herria, Germany, England and Spain who also talked about their experiences in relation to Euskaraldia and shared their reflections.  More information about the Arigune and the group here (in Euskera).

Some of the events in the coming days
