Corpus Christi, Argentina. With much excitement and desire to contribute to the cultural dynamic in its surroundings, the Eusko Etxea in Corpus has organized a Literary Contest since 2009. It began under the name “Amazing Stories,” and since then has maintained firm in its organization and allowing everyone with something to tell the opportunity to do so. It is a popular contest and all contributions are welcomed all organized from this tiny Basque club in this town of just over 3,000 inhabitants in the remote province of Misiones.
In a conversation with Olga Leiciaga, member of the organizing committee and alma mater of the Eusko Etxea in Corpus, we found out that this year they have already received more than a dozen works in Spanish, and that for the time being, they haven’t received any submissions in Basque yet. There is still time until the deadline June 30th for sure. Our hope here, is to encourage you all to write something and submit it. This year the theme is the current Coronavirus crisis, and whatever story, poem, anecdote, or reflection anyway relating to COVID-19 will be welcomed.
Submissions are accepted in both Basque and Spanish and there are separate juries in each language. We especially encourage Basque students at Basque clubs around the world to participate. Their contributions will be very welcomed. It is also open to people of all ages from any part of the world, belonging to Basque communities or no, anyone wishing to share his/her stories and/or reflections.
