Today is the deadline to participate in EuskalKultura.com’s March raffle. We are raffling three books and a DVD: Urruneko mendebalean artzain, (Sheepherder in the Far West) by Mattin Etchamendy (in Basque), Gardeners of Identity by Pedro J. Oiarzabal (English) and Basques in Buenos Aires, by several authors (Spanish); the DVD is the documentary Zerutik sua dator (Fire is Coming from the Sky) in Basque and Spanish by Egoitz Rodriguez Olea that includes testimonies of people who survived the 1937 bombings in various Bizkaian towns. Four great prizes to choose from, for just sending an email. Hurry up and don’t miss out!

Donostia-San Sebastian.  Today is the last day to participate in March’s raffle by EuskalKultura.com to will one of four great prizes.  To participate all you have to do is send an email to info@euskalkultura.com, and include “For the Raffle” in the subject line along with your name, mailing address and telephone, as well as which of the four prizes you would like.

The prizes to choose from are:

  • Urruneko mendebalean artzain by Mattin Etchamendy (in Basque). The book tells the story of the author, a Basque immigrant to the North American West, from the time when he leaves his hometown of Ezterenzubi, Behe Nafarroa. The book also includes a prologue by Joseba Etxarri, director of EuskalKultura.com.
  • Gardeners of Identity, Basques in the San Francisco Bay Area by Pedro J. Oiarzabal (in English). Published by the Center for Basque Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno, the historian and researcher Pedro Oiarzabal introduces us to the Basque reality in San Francisco, California and its large Basque community, its history and institutions.
  • Vascos en Buenos Aires (Basques in Buenos Aires) by various authors (in Spanish). This book was published last December by the city of Buenos Aires, and was not originally meant for the Basque community, but for the general population of the area, explaining the Basque reality, their country, culture and their presence and contribution to the history and reality of Argentinean capital.
  • Zerutik sua dator, documentary in Basque and Spanish – DVD directed by Egoitz Rodriguez Olea, that gathers the testimonies of fifty people who experienced the bombings in Bizkaia first hand during the Spanish Civil War in 1937.

All you have to do is send an email by midnight on March 28, 2014 (Basque Country time), to info@euskalkultura.com with “For the Raffle” in the subject line.

The message needs to include:

-Name of participant
-Mailing address (street, city, country)
-Telephone
-Which prize you prefer: 1-Urruneko mendebalean artzain, 2-Gardeners of Identity, 3-Vascos en Buenos Aires, 4-Zerutik sua dator
