José C. Paz, Argentina. The local Basque club invites everyone to participate in a new initiative that aims to “acquaint the community with knowledge about the Basque culture and reality, as well a provide a space for information exchange and camaraderie.”  They hope to do this “focusing on promoting the perspective of human rights, gender and linguistic equality, and hopes of strengthening networks with local and regional institutions to promote the Euskadi-Basque Country Strategy

“Basque Windows,” began as part of an idea from Paula Basaldua and will be coordinated by the club’s Basque teacher, Martin Colombet.  It will include a conversation modality, and in the words of club references, “Taking the metaphor of the Uruguayan Eduardo Galeano, we invite people interested in our culture to look through the “windows,” that we will open at Toki Eder, from which we can learn a little more of the history, present and future of the Basque people.”

The first meeting will be this Thursday, April 11 from 5:30-7:30 at the clubhouse (José C. Paz 2120), and the theme will be “Historic Conformation of Euskal Herria.” Upcoming meetings will also be held on the second Thursday of each month, at the same time with the following themes:
