The Iparraldeko Euskal Etxea in Buenos Aires unveiled the names of the winners of the 3rd edition of its literary contest

More than 100 texts participated in the literary contest “Basque Women” organized by the sub commission of culture at the Iparraldeko Euskal Etxea in Buenos Aires.  Given the quality of the entries, besides the winners and the special mentions, organizers also decided to present fourteen diplomas to other distinguished works.  The awards ceremony will take place on November 21 at the clubhouse. 

Buenos Aires, Argentina.   The sub commission of culture at the Iparraldeko Euskal Etxea organized the literary contest, “Basque Women” as part of its 120th anniversary celebration.  The event was very successful and included the participation of writers from Spain, Mexico, Venezuela, Ireland, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia, the Basque Country and Argentina.

As explained to EuskalKultura.com by one of the contest organizers, Norma Rios, “the quantity --106 texts-- and the quality of the works caused a delay in the publication of the results since, after long deliberations, the jury decided to add a sixth prize as well as present fourteen diplomas for “ literary recognition.”

The organization also noted that winning participants will also receive a certificate of participation.  They also announced that the sub commission of culture will also publish texts chosen by the jury in an anthology.  The works not included in the anthology, will become part of the heritage of the Iparraldeko Euskal Etxea and will be cataloged under cultural interest for future reference.

In regards to the awards ceremony, it will be held on Saturday November 21 at 4pm at the clubhouse on Moreno Street 1370.  The organization would like to request that winners who wish to participate RSVP by emailing: lesucedioaunvasco@gmail.com.
