Donostia-San Sebastian. 'Hamaika Gara – We are Many' is a "massive gathering of supporters and commitments in favor of the right to decide by referendum".  Its objective is "to make the majority position in favor of the exercise of the right to decide visible and make effective progress in the various territories that make up Euskal Herria.  The meeting of signatures is being held in the Basque Autonomous Communty and Navarre but also in Iparralde and the Diaspora.

In the words of the movement’s representatives, “We have the right to decide on questions that affect our lives and our community, and we have no doubt that if we join forces, we will be able to get the necessary tools to do so.  For this reason, our project is based on collaboration and networking between the popular “Gure Esku” movement and other multi-sector agents.”

In a conversation with EuskalKultura.eus, Irati Elizalde, director of communication of the "Hamaika Gara - We are many" stressed the importance of the Diaspora’s participation in the call.  The petition can be signed using whatever device from anywhere in the world, with the signature serving as a “declaration of commitment” in support of the manifesto (see here).

The petition is available to sign through June 2021, and this date may be changed due to the pandemic.  Throughout this period, different cultural actions are planned to promote the collection of signatures.  The first of these activities was on Saturday, October 31st in Durango and it was called “Altxa!” The even brought together 23 agents and promotors of the “Hamaika Gara” initiative. There was also participation from the Diaspora, specifically with a message from Argentine anthropologist, Julieta Gaztañaga. Whole video of the show here.

Among some of the other events planned to promote signing the petition is a presentation of the “Hamaika Gara” song and video by the duo from Araba Dupla and actress and singer Itziar Ituño from Bizkaia.
