Cordoba, Argentina.   After 25 years since the death of Fidela Bernat, the last speaker of Roncal Basque, the Gerora Association decided to honor her.  With the name Orai Keben (in Roncal) Orain Hemen (in Batua) Gerora is carrying out a film series, for the entire community at the facilities at the College of Languages in Cordoba.

Over four meetings, the documentary Euskara Jendea, based on the book of the same name written by Xamar, will be shown.  As Elba Mocoroa, president of Gerora, told EuskalKultura.com, “The proposal was very well-received.  At the first showing, the audience was mainly comprised of Basque students and participants in other Gerora activities, as well as others from other areas interested in language.  In this way, for some, the themes discussed in the documentary were taken as points to work on further in classes,” Mocoroa said - she also serves as a teacher at the institution.
