A delegation of the Basque Government, headed by Asier Vallejo Itsaso, Director of the Basque Community Abroad, is in Dublin to participate in the European section of the Global Forum of the Diaspora. The conference, which will take place today and tomorrow, strives to be the meeting point where “diaspora communities can forge relationships in the private sector, civil society and public institutions to make their relationships with the country of origin more effective and sustainable.

Dublin, Ireland.  The Director of the Basque Community Abroad, Asier Vallejo, is in Dublin where he will participate, today and tomorrow, in the European section of the Global Diaspora Forum organized by the US State Department.  Asier Vallejo, will participate in various meetings and workshops during the forum.

The Global Diaspora Forum is, according to the Basque Government, the most important world conference on this subject and also has “much value as a platform for the exchange of ideas as well as to establish connections between Diasporas and their countries of origin.”

Businessmen, politicians, community leaders from the Diaspora, representatives from international institutions, foundation heads, academic experts and members of nonprofit organizations will all be in attendance.
