Vitoria-Gasteiz. The Basque Government’s Board approved the 2021 call for grants for individuals in dire need in Basque communities all around the world.  As every year, the grants will be passed through Basque clubs and this year’s budget is the same as last years, or 202,000 Euros.  The budget was passed yesterday and will be published in the Official Bulletin of the Basque Country in the coming days (BOPV-EHAA), making the deadline to apply, one month after the day after its appearance in the bulletin.

Applicants need to prove their membership in a Basque community and residency abroad; as well as their lack of assets or income that proves their state of dire need; they should live in private homes, without being part of a group, community or entity that by regulation or statute must provide assistance.

Remember that the application period will not begin until the call is published in the Official Bulletin. Interested individuals need to pay attention to this, as well as get in touch with their closest Basque club.  More information is available from the closest Delegation of Euskadi or also from the Directorate of the Basque Community Abroad (euskaletxeak@euskadi.eus).
