Macachin, Argentina. Under normal conditions, EuskalKultura.eus would be publishing here the final program for the SNV, Semana Nacional Vasca (Argentine Basque National Week) for this year that was to be held in Macachin November 16-23, hosted by local Basque club Euzko Alkartasuna. Two weeks apart from what would have been the beginning, the club has let us know that they will commemorate the date virtually, with videos and material from the club as well as other with the collaboration of several Basque clubs all over the country.
Beginning on November 16th the Euskal Etxea will upload images of Semana Nacional 2015 on its social media. On the weekend of the 20-23rd, they will also upload videos from various dance groups that the club has already contacted, as well as greetings from the hosting clubs board of directors, club friends, FEVA as well as local authorities and those from the Basque Government, along with cultural and political references in Argentina and Euskal Herria.
Basque students at the club will also participate with a text reading, and among the clubs that have pilota kantxas, there will be a virtual pilota match that will begin at the Macachin fronton.
Euzko Alkartasuna is also awaiting authorization to hold a small gathering in front of the clubhouse on Sunday the 23rd. If obtained, they will do so taking the corresponding health security measures into account. The gathering would include dance performances and cultural stands.
