San Francisco, California, USA. The Basque Educational Organization (BEO), headquartered in San Francisco has organized a contest whose prizes are two $2,000 scholarships. Any university student can participate and the only requirement includes the presentation of a work on the topic “Celebrating and Cultivating Awareness of the Basques and Basque Culture.” The submission may be literary, visual or performing art of your choice exploring ideas focused on this theme. The deadline for proposals is July 31st with completed submissions due by August 31st
Winning submissions will be asked to participate in the BEO’s Basque Cultural Day planned for October 23rd, and if agreed by both parties these works will also be shared on the BEO’s website. All works need to be original.
