Jesus Lopategui and Ramon Zugazaga are two of the Elkoans featured by the Elko Daily Free Press for the City's Centennial. They have been selected by the Nevada paper as two of “the people who helped make Elko what it is today.” Both of them are also part of the Memoria Bizia Basque oral project supported by NABO. Zorionak Ramon eta Jesus! Read about them in the links we provide here.

Elko, NV, USA. In celebration of Elko, Nevada’s Centennial, the Elko Daily Free Press is running a series of articles featuring “the people who helped make Elko what it is today.”

The installment of Elko 100 on January 24, 2017, featured Ramon Zugazaga, beloved former president of the Elko Euzkaldunak Basque Club, and former owner of the Biltoki Basque Restaurant, also in Elko.

A few weeks before, Jess Lopategui was also featured in the same series, as you can read here.
