Even though it's a little more than two years away, Jaialdi 2015 organizers have started festival preparations for the event that gathers US Basques once every five years along with numerous friends from the Basque Country and the Diaspora. The 2015 edition will take place from July 28-August 2 in Boise, and the organizers are inviting Basque choirs, dance troupes and artists from anywhere interested in participating to present their proposals. It will be a unique opportunity to be submerged into the Basque-American atmosphere.

Boise, Idaho.  Jaialdi is one of the most important festivals for the Boise Basque community and for the US in general.  It is held every five years and converts Boise, for a few days, into the capital of the Basque Diaspora with many friends from the Basque Country and other countries also attending.  The atmosphere is always wonderful, and the event becomes a celebration of Basque culture with music, dance, concerts and everyone wanting to have a good time.

The next edition will take place between July 28 and August 2, 2015, but the organization committee has already started planning.  One of the first things to do is to choose groups that will perform at the event.  For this, organizers have invited music, dance, and choir groups, along with any other type of artists interested in performing at Jaialdi 2015, to get in touch with them and to send in proposals for participation.

Send your proposal

Artists who wish to take part in the festivities should send their proposals to the organization before the end of August of this year.  The organization has created a special mail box on its www.jaialdi.com website where interested persons can find the form that needs to be filled out.  This form is available in four languages: Euskera, English, Spanish and French.

Organizers will notify applicants of their decision by November of 2013, so that groups have enough time to organize their trip, and find funding if necessary.  Travel to Boise will be the responsibility of the group while Jaialdi will be in charge of food and lodging during their stay.
