EuskalKultura.com is holding a new raffle: music, comics and Basque stories from North and South America

With the New Year comes a new raffle by EuskalKultura.com. This time the prizes include comics in English about the adventurers of Basque whalers on the east coast of the US and Canada; a book of stories in Basque about Basques who helped build what is California today; a book in Spanish on Basque Rural Cooking that was created and developed in Argentina and South America by Basque immigrants; a CD with music by Basque group Korrontzi who are able to liven up any party. All you have to do is send an email.

Donostia-San Sebastian. EuskalKultura.com has launched another raffle of material related with the Diaspora and the expression of Basque culture in the world.  In this case in order to participate all you have to do is send an email to info@euskalkultura.com with “For the Raffle” in the subject line and include your name, address, and telephone number as well as which prize you would like.  The prizes to choose from are:

1. – Comic entitled, Joanes, Priest of Pirates, from the Joanes or the Basque Whaler series, situated in the history of Basque whalers on the North American coast, drawn and published in English in the US by Guillermo Zubiaga, Basque cartoonist in New York.

2. – Kaliforniakoak (1533-1848), a 495-page book by Asun Garikano that gathers Basque news and testimonies of the Basque presence and participation in historic California from the first Western arrival by sea to the territory, to the time that Mexican Alta California becomes part of the United States under the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo (in Basque).

3. – Cocina vasca campesina (Basque Rural Cooking), published in Argentina in Spanish by Maria Echave, Basque-Argentine author, that gathers recipes, stories and texts about dishes and experiences developed around the kitchens in Basque-Argentinean homes in its 180 pages.

4. – CD Korrontzi, tradition 2.1 by the Basque folk group Korrontzi with traditional Basque music based on the trikitixa with 16 songs that include elements and support of instruments from other cultures, with a spectacular, happy danceable result,
