Paraná, Argentina. In an especially difficult year, not just because of the forced cancellation of all activities because of the Coronavirus, but also because of the robbery suffered by Urrundik at its clubhouse in May, the Basque club got to enjoy a Master Class on Basque dance by renowned dantzari and musician from Añorga, Gari Otamendi Arrieta.
Internationally recognized, especially after his leading role in the film Dantza by Telmo Esnal, Otamendi shared a working day that covered historical, conceptual and practical aspects of Basque dance with Urrundik’s dance group.
The Paraná Basque-Argentine Association especially stressed the commitment of this Basque artist and “the valuable knowledge he shared with great clarity and precision,” as well as the response and the interest it aroused among the club’s dantzaris.
“We are very happy that we were able to carry out this activity in a year that we couldn’t celebrate our 20h anniversary as originally planned, nor the 30th anniversary of ‘Presencia Vasca,’” Juan Carlos Borras told EuskalKultura.eus.
