Classes are part of the Euskara Munduan Program managed by the Etxepare Basque Institute and will take place at the Cervantes Institute in the capital city. Researchers Alberto Irigoyen and Xabier Irujo, specialists in the Basque Diaspora, announced today the oldest text found to date in an American press. It is a notice signed by the political and police chief of Montevideo José Antuña published on September 4, 1842, 178 years ago. Until now, another text published in 1843 also in Montevideo, had that distinction. Both researchers explain their find in the following article.
