The EuskalKultura.com that you see in front of you is the last example of this version of the newsletter and website. We will return in September after completing renovating the page in August. Thanks to everyone who responded to the survey and gave us your opinions and points of view on the project. We will keep them in mind. The exhibit came to Argentina in June to tour various cities where it will be exhibited to the public. In cities where there are Basque clubs, it will also be included in various activities around it. After being in Buenos Aires and Posadas, “Basque Argentina” will travel to Azul, Olavarria, Marcos Juarez, La Plata and Mercedes. In La Plata, it will also be one of the attractions at Semana Nacional Vasca 2014.

Even though their headquarters is in Biarritz (Lapurdi, Basque Country), Kiki Bordatxo is a well-known band in the California Basque community, as they have played several times at Basque picnics on the West Coast. This year, San Francisco and Chino will host their concerts on the last two weekends of August. “They’ve played here five times or so, and it’s a pleasure to have them back,” Pierro Etcharren, delegate of the San Francisco Basque Club, told Euskalkultura.com.

The event, co-organized by the Guillermo Larregui Basque club in Chacabuco and the Navarrese Center in Buenos Aires, will begin on August 9th with a dance workshop and will conclude on Sunday the 10th, after lunch as part of the 25th anniversary activities of the Guillermo Larregui club. The main event will be the dance performance in the Plaza San Martin on Saturday starting at 4pm. The event has been declared an event of municipal interest.

Eskualduna, one of the pioneer Basque associations in Paris and Member of the Pariseko Eskual Etxea celebrates “Journée des Basques,” or Basque Day in a locality in Euskal Herria. This year the town chosen is Larzabale, in Behe Nafarroa, where members and friends of the entity will gather on August 21st. The event will take place at the Restaurant and Hotel du Trinquet, and the organizers are sure that a great time will be had.

Colorado Euskal Etxea, the only Basque Club in that state and founded just 11 years ago, will celebrate its annual picnic on August the 10th. As president Mayi Petracek told Euskalkultura.com this festivity is the main fundraiser for the “small club,” with only 33 members, and their goal is to start taking part deeper on the cultural programs organized by NABO and other Basque clubs across the country: “We’d love to help some projects and to continue participating with other clubs at the time of bringing speakers and musicians from the Basque Country.”

The Deputy General of Gipuzkoa, Martin Garitano, sent an institutional message to Basques, especially those from Gipuzkoa, in the Diaspora as part of the San Inazio celebration this Thursday. This is the first time that the highest authority in Gipuzkoa has addressed the Diaspora via video on the occasion of St Ignatius, patron saint of Gipuzkoa, celebrated on July 31st the anniversary of the Saint’s death, and holiday in Gipuzkoa and Bizkaia.

The recently created choir made its debut in Basque in front of 100 people that gathered to celebrate San Fermin at the Santa Rosa Basque club. Converted into the new cultural ambassador of the institution, the choir will represent the club at the Festival of Communities this coming Sunday. Zelaiko Euskal Etxea also announced a luncheon in August for its 22nd anniversary and the inauguration of the final stage of work being done on the clubhouse.
