Our "Translator Relay" series features a new interview each month. This month's translator will choose the next interviewee, adding a different, sixth question. For November's installment, Jason Grunebaum passed the baton to Amaia Gabantxo, a writer, flamenco singer, and literary translator specializing in Basque literature. She has translated works by every canonical Basque author, and published and performed on both sides of the Atlantic. At present, she is developing two hybrid literary/musical/performance art projects in Chicago:Palo a Palo, which combines flamenco and Butoh, and Soniché, which fuses flamenco with classical music.

La donostiarra Mela Villar, afincada en Eibar, está estudiado la relación de sus antepasados eibarreses con la localidad asturiana de Trubia. Sus ascendientes tuvieron que marchar allí «de forma obligada» para trabajar en las fábricas de armas. Visitó su cementerio y comprobó el alto número de apellidos vascos inscritos en las lápidas mortuorias, muchas de ellas de eibarreses que protagonizaron este éxodo.

There are hundreds of delicious reasons why Spain's Mugaritz ranks near the top of the World's 50 Best Restaurants. But don't call it a restaurant. First there was a perfectly empty white circle. The table was not laid with any cutlery, nor cluttering glassware. An opaque dish was placed in front of us containing a little ball of grass. We picked it up. It felt tender and squishy in our fingertips and when we put it in our mouths the fronds of sprouted teff tickled our lips as our tongues found their way into a hazelnut mud centre.

Pamplona, EFE El presidente de la Federación Internacional de Pelota Vasca (FIPV), Xavier Cazaubon, ha mantenido varias reuniones de trabajo en Uruguay, donde se ha confirmado la presencia de la pelota en los Juegos de Lima 2019 y Cochabamba 2018. Cazaubon, acompañado por Marcello Filipeli, vicepresidente de la FIPV y presidente de la Confederación Panamericana, mantuvo el miércoles la primera reunión con Julio Maglione, miembro del COI, presidente de la ODEPA, del Comité Olímpico Uruguayo y de la Federación Internacional de Natación.
