John Bopp, nuestro responsable de la edición en inglés de About Basque Country este verano ha pasado unos días en Saint Pierre et Miquelon. Ha escrito, para los lectores del blog, un relato de su visita, y de lo bien que se lo pasaron durante su estancia, que coincidía con el Festival vasco que se celebra allí desde hace 38 años. Nosotros hemos escrito en numerosas ocasiones sobre estas islas, que son territorio de la Unión europea a escasas millas de la costa de Canadá. Como nos recuerda John Bopp, en 1902 el primer club deportivo de las islas se llamó «Zazpiak bat». Otro ejemplo de la intensidad y fuerza de las raíces vascas de este rincón de América, lo encontramos cuando en 2017 su Eusko Etxea se incluyó en el registro del Gobierno Vasco. Es un lugar a visitar, como muy bien nos indica John Bopp en su texto y con sus fotos. Un rincón vasco al otro lado del Atlántico.

There are plenty of historic Basque restaurants in our state to choose from, but one of the most beloved is the Santa Fe Hotel. This restaurant is a staple in Reno, and it’s recent return after a brief closure has made us even more fond of it.
