Barranquilla, Colombia. Readers will remember this initiative launched in March by Iker Guillermo Lopez and the group that he leads in Barranquilla called “Karibeko Euskal Etxea,” proposing people from Colombia and from neighboring countries, but also from anywhere else, email and obtain a proverb or tongue twister in Basque, and record it in a video to be sent to them. Here is the result, a video that has been edited and includes all of the submissions.
People participated from Colombia (Cartagena de Indias, Puerto Colombia, Pereira, Barranquila, Medellin and Bogota), from Valparaiso, Chile, Buenos Aire, Argentina, Boise, Idaho, Trujillo, Peru, Puebla, Mexico and from the Basque Country from Laudio, Okondo, Urduña, Portugalete, Sopela and Leioa. The Karibeko Euskal Etxea would also like to thank everyone who participated and made “Euskaraz Kolonbia" 2021 possible. This was the first time they have organized such an even and they are very happy with the result. They promise to provide new activities always in the hopes of giving testimony and disseminating knowledge about the Basques attracting people in a playful way to Euskal Herria, its language and its culture.
