Sydney, Australia. Today “Turandot” by Puccini debuts at the Sydney Opera House with Basque tenor Andeka Gorrotxategi playing the principal role of Calaf. Among those planning on attending is a group of friends of the opera from the Gure Txoko Basque Club, in Sydney who will support him with their applause. “Turandot,” will be performed at the Joan Sutherland Theater at the Sydney Opera House from January 15-March 20, although later on tenor Yonghoon will take over for Gorrotxategi playing Calaf.
