Buenos Aires, Argentina. Even if it seems like a movie at times, the pandemic is a reality that is affecting everyone and obliges everyone to adapt.  In the case of the Traveling Basque Film project (Cine Vasco Itinerante - Euskal Zinema Ibiltaria), a program that screens films by Basque creators at Basque clubs in Argentina, led by Carlos Gabilondo will begin its 2020 season this Friday virtually. The chosen film will be enjoyed by everyone from home and the post-film debate will take place on social media.

This year is the 10th anniversary of the program and Carlos Gabilondo isn’t ready to give in to the Coronavirus, although he did have to adapt his work to the new circumstances.  He also didn’t want the 10th anniversary of the program to go unnoticed, and what better way than to continue it virtually following the prevention directives indicated by the authorities.

As such, this Friday the 10th anniversary will be commemorated with a screening at Euskaltzaleak in Buenos Aires.  As planned on the agenda, the first event in 2020, the 60th screening at the Euskaltzaleak, will take place on April 17th at 8:30pm.  Just prior, the audience will have seen the short entitled On the Line, a work by Jon Garaño from 2008 that can be found at the following links.

During the virtual/live transmission gathering on Euskaltzaleak’s Facebook, the audience will be able to ask or comment about the short, as well as about Basque film in general.

The event begins at 8:30pm, Argentina time (Saturday 1:30am in Euskal Herria). This time, pintxos, will be prepared at home: everything for our health which is the priority, physical and spiritual.
