Buenos Aires, Argentina. Last Saturday morning, the Laurak Bat Basque Club opened its doors to welcome students and professors from the Euskara Munduan Program coordinated by the Etxepare Basque Institute. Through Friday at noon, some 20 teachers in training in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay will have an intensive course, in this case in hopes of preparing them for the level exam that will take place in Buenos Aires on Friday and Saturday. José Francisco Zinkunegi will coordinate the activity along with Argentine teachers, Gabriela Mendia, Irene López de Vicuña, and Sabrina Otegui, who were also trained in the same program.
In this way, the Winter Barnetegi will finalize the training process for this group of teachers that began the program in 2013, in San Nicolas, and there is no better way to conclude than providing this opportunity to certify their levels of Euskera with these HABE exams. Thanks to the special call organized by the Etxepare Basque Institute, next weekend 10 students will take level B1 and another 12 will take B2, levels that correspond to the Common European Framework in regards to languages.
This is the second time that these official exams will take place in Argentina, the last time was in 2012 that not only allowed the number of qualified Basque teachers in Argentina to increase, but also to make a qualitative leap in relation to the number of teachers trained and qualified in the Diaspora.
