The Olentzero has already visited a large number of Basque clubs, while others are getting ready for the Christmas holidays when the jolly coal maker will make an appearance. For those who don’t have a Basque club nearby, or for those who want to introduce their children to the Olentzero through games, the internet offers some sites that we will provide below. This year, we will also include a new app for smart phones that can be used to write and send letters instantly to Olentzero.

Donostia-San Sebastian.  Olentzero, the beloved coal maker from the Basque Country, has modernized in the last few years, and how!  Web pages have been created withal kinds of games and activities, and this year there is a novelty, an app, that can be used by kids to write letters and send them instantly. The game was designed by the Bizkaian Company, Asoma.

It is really easy to use this app: all you have to do is download it from the Google Play store and install it on your phone.  Before writing to the Olentzero, he will want to know if you have been bad or good.  If the answer is good, you can also include a list of five presents that can be included in the letter.  You can also sing the Olentzero song.

For its part, Eitb.com, has once again dedicated a special site to the coal maker: Olentzero jokoak with animated games where you can help the Olentzero pass out gifts, or where you can enter the worlds of the story Behekobasoko jostuna.  Besides this, there is also a video that tells the story of the doll that came with the Olentzero and, finally, you can also write an send cards to the Olentzero from here.

Another interesting site is Olentzero.net, a site created by his fan club that includes pictures of his visits to towns in Euskal Herria, as well as games and information.  Without forgetting www.izenaduba.com from the the Olentzero’s House in Mungia (Bizkaia).

(If you know of other interesting sites, share them in the comments section)
