The Rio Grande do Sul (RGDS) Basque club in Brazil will join in on the third reunion of the Insaurriaga family that will take place in Monte Bonito. It is a long Basque saga that began with their great-grandfather, Eugenio Jose, leaving his home town of Huesca in 1840. Last year, nearly one hundred family members gathered. The RGDS Basque club also encouraged other Basque families in the area to follow the Insaurriaga example and organize their own get-togethers.

Porto Alegre, Brazil.  The Rio Grande do Sul Basque Club, based in Porto Alegre, invites everyone to participate in the family reunions and get-togethers organized by Basque descendants in the country.  The Basque club itself, as part of its mission to promote the Basque-Brazilian heritage, tends to support and participate in such gatherings.  During 2013, for example, the club participated in two events of this type: the 2nd Insaurriaga family reunion that gathered 70 descendants in Monte Bonito, and the first Sallaberry family reunion that took place in Arroio Grande, gathering 400 people from the same family tree.

The Basque club, is also helping the Zabaleta-Irigon family, according to its blog, whose nucleus is in Pedro Osorio, in the organization of its future reunion.

Third Insaurriaga Reunion

This year, the Basque-Brazilian club has already planned its next event; participating in the Third Insaurriaga Family Reunion that will take place on April 6 in Monte Bonito in the region of Pelotas.  The event will begin at 13:00 in the hall at San Judas Tadeo.
