Chascomús, Argentina. The Chascomus Zingirako Euskaldunak Basque Club could finally share the joy of its new space and expansion that will facilitate more recreational and gastronomical activities.  The remodeling of the kitchen and hall, with a capacity of 100 guests, began a year ago, during the pandemic and was inaugurated on September 8th as part of the club’s Basque Diaspora Day festivities in conjunction with its 30th anniversary.

During the inauguration ceremony, club president, Gustavo Armendariz provided a summary of the club’s history, and the director of the dance group, Catalina Arraras, performed an Auresku.  Those present, a smaller number due to health protocol restrictions, shared a “sukaldi,” prepared in the new facilities.

In regards to current and future club activities, club vice-president, Martin Larralde said that classes for the txikis and dance rehearsal for intermediates and adults would resume following health protocols in place.  “Shortly, we will return to Mus and Euskera gatherings,” Larralde said.  More photos from the inauguration are available, here.
