Vitoria-Gasteiz. The Day of the Basque Diaspora’s third edition was celebrated on September 8th virtually, and in the middle of the pandemic, but with Basque clubs from around the world adhering to its celebration in one way or another, respecting the corresponding COVID-19 measures at each. The Director of the Basque Community Abroad, Gorka Alavarez Aranburu, presented the video that brings together images of those celebrations this morning to Secretary General of Foreign Action, Marian Elorza.
Both Basque Government representatives said that they wish to thank the euskal etxeas for their participation, as well as the Basque community all around the world that joined in the celebration of Day of the Basque Diaspora who sent videos of their activities. In all, 55 Basque clubs in 13 countries sent high-quality videos of their events in time to be included in the compilation. These include videos and images from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, the United States, Spain, France, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Uruguay and Venezuela.
