Santiago, Chile. The Delegation of Euskadi in Chile, Peru and Colombia reports that pre-registrations and enrollment is ready for the Basque course for the second semester taught at the Pontifical Catholic University in Chile (pre-register here). The course begins on Tuesday, September 3 and will run until December on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:50pm, for a total of 50 course hours.  Students will acquire necessary tools for introductory Euskera, corresponding to level A1.1 as described by the Common European Framework for Languages.

Basque classes at the Catholic University will take place at the Casa Central (Alameda 390) as part of the language courses offered by the College of Humanities, and are aimed at adults in general, regular undergraduate and graduate students, academics, graduates, administrative staff and family of the University interested in knowing the language of Euskal Herria in a formal environment.  

Mireia Orbegozo will teach the classes. She has a degree in Translation and Interpretation specialized in the Basque language, and a Masters on Language Training and Instruction from the University of the Basque Country.  She is also the current lecturer at the Chilean University from the Etxepare Basque Institute.  For more information on the course, write C-Avila@euskadi.eus.
