Brussels, Belgium. The poem, “Hirian ibiltzeko jarraibideak”' (Instructions for walking in the city) by Miren Agur Meabe can now be read along with other European poets on the walls of public transport in Brussels, in their original version and translated to French and Dutch. The poet from Leketio will participate tomorrow in a poetry reading on Zoom.  As this has becoming the norm in 2020, all of the festival’s activities will be provided online; although some will also be broadcast live.  Without losing its sense of humor, the organization has called this year’s edition Let’s go vir(tu)al!

The Transpoesie poetry festival is celebrating its 10th edition this year.  It is a date celebrated annually as part of the European Day of Languages on September 26th and exhibits works by writers from all over Europe in their original languages.  Organized by the EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture of the European Union) with Euskal Herria and the Basque culture represented through the Etxepare Basque Institute.

Transcendental Journeys is the name of the act of reading poetry in webinar format that will take place tomorrow, Wednesday live at 8pm via Zoom.  The event, organized with the help of the Maison du Livre in Brussels will be offered through the Transpoesie social media profiles (Facebook and Instagram), although it can also be followed on a large screen at the headquarters of the Hungarian Institute of Brussels.

Participants along with Miren Agure Meabe will include Jaromír Typlt (Czech Republic), Adrián Perera (Finland), Lia Sturua (Georgia), Stephen Sexton i (Northern Ireland) and Josep Pedrals (Catalonia). Each poet will read his/her poem in his/her original language and simultaneous English translation will be available. The Belgian-based Zambian writer and musician, Kriticos Mwansa, will conduct the event.
