La Plata, Argentina.  Taking the baton from the Euzko Etxea in Villa Maria, who hosted the 2013 event, the La Plata Basque club has confirmed that they will host Semana Nacional Vasca 2014.  The program of events will begin on Sunday November 2^nd, with main activities taking place on the following weekend that is Friday the 7^th-Sunday the 9^th.  

The massive festival will coincide with the 70^th anniversary of the foundation of the club and so will be especially shared “with those who have been part of the club and have contributed to its growth, and with the local, national and international communities who would like to join in the celebrations.”

The last time that La Plata hosted the event was in 2008 and included the participation of Lehendakari Juan Jose Ibarretxe, among politicians present, and Oskorri and the Accordion Orchestra of Aretxabaleta as well as the trio MMX among the entertainers.

In regards to future sites for Semana Vasca, lets remember that FEVA has included the following:

-Semana Vasca 2015: Macachin. Province of La Pampa, organized by Euzko Alkartasuna of Macachín
-Semana Vasca 2016: Necochea, Province of Buenos Aires, organized by Euzko Etxea of Necochea
-Semana Vasca 2017: Tandil (Gure Etxea) or San Nicolas (Euzkal Etxea) TBC both are in the Province of Buenos Aires
-Semana Vasca 2018: Tandil (Gure Etxea) or San Nicolas (Euzkal Etxea) TBC both in the Province of Buenos Aires

Information on this year’s event will appear on the club’s website (Euzko Etxea) as well as on its Facebook page, (Centro Vasco Euzko Etxea La Plata).  The next La Plata organizational meeting will take place on March 31^st at 20:00 on the first floor of the clubhouse.
