The 6th Congress of World Communities Abroad was inaugurated yesterday with a few words from Lehendakari Urkullu at the Montehermoso-Oihaneder Euskararen Etxea Palace in Vitoria-Gasteiz.  After an Aurresku, joining the Lehendakari at the head table were, Marian Elorza, Secretary General of Foreign Affairs, Asier Vallejo, Director of Basque Communities Abroad, and Irish expert Kingsley Aikins who gave the keynote speech.  Photo chronicle. 

Vitoria-Gasteiz.   The event began with a welcome from Marian Elorza and a speech by Lehendakari Urkullu.  Asier Vallejo also addressed those present, including delegates and participants at the Congress and institutional representatives and the maximum representation of the Parliament who were also present.  Vallejo also introduced Kinglsey Aikins who did the keynote speech.  Afterwards is a selection of images of the first day to be followed by more in the coming days:
