Tolosa, Gipuzkoa. During this time of pandemic, causing the cancellation of the most popular festivities in Euskal Herria, Carnival is no exception, but nevertheless, today is Fat Thursday, a day when carnival traditionally begins but this year a day that has been reduced to an ordinary day of the week. Local institutions and carnival kuadrillak and konpartsak in places like Tolosa have joined in the call of No-Carnival, no get-togethers. Prudence and responsibility prevail. “Ez, aurten ez dagokio,” (not this year), they proclaim.
